WELCOME TO HOLY INFANT AND SECOND GRADE!!

Welcome to Second Grade at Holy Infant School!!!  I am so glad to have you at this school and in my classroom! 

We will have a great year together learning our math facts, how to regroup for subtraction and addition, independently using the AR program to improve our reading, and fine tuning all of our reading skills that have been learned so far! 

In addition to all of this, we will make two sacraments this year...The Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist or First Holy Communion.  You will get to participate in Mass throughout the school year by reading, singing, bringing up the Offertory gifts, or in other ways.  

We will pair up with the eighth grade class and they will become our buddies.  (They will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this year.  So the two sacramental classes have a great opportunity to get to know each other!) We will do several activities with them which include building a shoebox float for the Mardi Gras parade, having a baby shower to benefit the Birthright organization, and many other fun activities. We will also make gingerbread houses in December with our parents or another adult.  This is pure fun!!!

As you can see, we will have a great year together in second grade!  Remember...
